40 West
Narrative Synopsis
Blues musician Maeve’s attempt to rebuild her life takes a dark turn when she’s trapped in a rundown East Texas motel with her abusive husband, Colin—recently and secretly released from prison. Joined by Elijah, a self-proclaimed Good Samaritan whose motives are far from pure, Maeve is forced to confront the violent ghosts of her past. But Colin’s plan for reconciliation—a twisted “gift” meant to make amends—quickly unravels with the arrival of his volatile lover Arlene and her vengeful husband, Bud. As secrets and tempers ignite, the night spirals into a brutal showdown where no one’s hands are clean.
